Custom fields allow you to create and save relevant information, which is specific to your business needs. The custom fields might be added to leads, people, companies, deals and products.
Custom fields in Teamgate play a huge role in allowing you to capture the information that you need about your customers. If you have unique information that doesn’t fit into Teamgate's default fields, you can create custom fields for this data.
1.You can create various type custom fields:
Standard text. Short description (Ex.: Name, Education, Relation...)
Numbers. The unique information in numbers.(Ex.: Licences, VAT, Code, Security Number...)
The value of the currency. The field that you can enter some value in currency (Ex.: Revenue, Orders...)
Date. Appearing data picker to set important dates (Ex.: B-day, Insurance, Next event...).
Standard select. One option to select a value (Ex.: Yes/No, A, B,C...).
Multi-select. More than one option to select a value (Ex.: Services Provided, Transport, HR...).
Long text. Long text type field is for records of up to 6000 symbols. { Description, Comments, Notes...).
Checkboxes. More than one option to select a value.
URL. URL (www address)
2. How to create a custom field?
1. Navigate to Settings > Customization > Custom Fields;
2. Select the section (Leads, People, Company, Deals, Products);
3. Use the "Create New Field" button;
3. Select the type of your custom field;
4. Set the title for your custom field and add the values (single-option and multi-option fields only);
5. Don't forget to SAVE.
Info: Don't forget, once created, fields can be easily copied from/to People, Companies or Deals. Just drag them to the next section and they will be copied with all the values.
3. Where will custom field information be visible?
3.1. Custom fields will appear in the Leads, People, Company, Deals and Product cards on the left side.
3.2. As well as, you may enable custom fields to be shown in the main client list. Click the bubble under "Show in the list" column to enable the field. Green- enabled; red- disabled. It is allowed to add up to 5 custom fields to the list.
4. Can I filter by the custom fields?
You may add these types of custom fields to the filter: "Standard select", "Multi-select", "Checkboxes" and "Data".

Note: You can switch ON or OFF the custom fields for People and Company section. Just click on the bubble at the section STATUS to set it to ON / OFF.
5. How to edit existing custom field?
Navigate to Settings > Customization > Custom fields > select the custom field you want to edit and click on the title. Do not forget to save the changes.
6. What happens when I convert a Lead to a People/ Company? Does the custom fields transfer?
In order to transfer the custom fields when converting the lead, you should map the fields and tell the system how you wish the custom fields to appear in People/ Companies/ Deals cards.
